My name is Ida Arakel, and I am the artist behind Artist-Ida.

Painting has been part of my life since my teenage years, beginning as a quiet creative passion that gradually grew into a lifelong artistic journey. Over the years I have studied and developed my practice through formal art training in Los Angeles and Sydney, while continuing to explore my own personal style and artistic expression.

Working from my home studio in Sydney, I create acrylic and mixed-media paintings inspired by landscapes, floral forms, still life and the subtle beauty of everyday surroundings. I am particularly drawn to colour, texture and atmosphere, often building layered surfaces that evoke movement, memory and emotion.

My artworks have been exhibited in many exhibitions and community art shows across Sydney, where I have been honoured to receive awards and commendations for both painting and mixed-media works. Alongside my own practice, I also enjoy teaching acrylic and mixed-media painting to adult students, encouraging creativity, confidence and personal artistic exploration.
